This is the story of Captain Uno and Wiley.

Hi. My name is Captain Uno. This is the story of me and my sister, Wiley. We’re both pure breed Akitas.  I’m a loyal, sensitive creature.

I love spending time on the trail. Especially when there are treats involved.

I’m a very mellow, well-behaved boy.

Even though I like hiking, my absolute favorite thing to do is to SLEEP.  I could sleep through anything. If you have guests over, I will spend the entire evening sleeping.  I’m 80 pounds but I can curl up into a ball. This is me last week. 

I can sleep anytime, anyhow.

I can sleep on hiking shoes.

I love my sister, Wiley. I raised her since she was a baby. I met all her brothers and sisters in the Akita litter and I picked her. I fell in love.  She’s now 3 years old.

Here I am taking her on her first hike in the Olympics.

She didn’t make it the whole way and had to be carried.

We do everything together. We both love the snow and cold weather. This is us on a hut-to-hut trail at Winthrop.

She was a very cute puppy.

Some say I was a cute puppy too.

Taking care of Wiley is a full time job and requires lots of naps.

Although I am older and more worldly, she sometimes thinks she is the boss. She is so cute, I don’t bother correcting her.

She’s a bit of a character.She is the athlete in the family. She can run and run!
